What We Do

You may be thinking about a construction project after the winter weather has come and gone. It is best that you get your plans done now so that you can have your permit in hand and be ready when you want to start building. Whether you are a home owner who is considering a remodel or thinking of building your own home, or a Contractor who needs plans for a permit or someone to sit down with clients to develop a design, we can be of service. We can provide the plans and design work that you need. Just give us a call or send us an email. Consultations are free, and there is no obligation. We also provide a guarantee with our work.

Our specialty is in the area residential additions and remodels. Here is an overview of a typical remodel project:

STEP 1: CONSULTATION

We'll come out to your home and discuss what you want to do. Some people already have a good idea of what they want, maybe they've seen pictures in a magazine, or their neighbor has done a recent remodel. Some just want to bounce around a few ideas, or get some input; we can offer up ideas or suggestions as you'd like.

There is no cost for this first meeting, and you are under no obligation to continue on through the design process.

STEP 2: DRAFTING & DESIGN

If you don't have existing blueprints, we will need to measure your home so that we can draw an existing plan. After we draw your existing home, we will develop a few design options (based on our initial meeting). We will then meet with you again to look over these options. We use a program called Chief Architect, that allows us to show you what the addition would look like if it were added to your home. We will create a 3 dimensional model in the computer so that we can rotate it or cut sections through the model where you might have questions.

At this point, we will discuss any changes you may want. We will set another meeting for us to bring back the model with these changes. This process will recycle until you are happy with the design. When you are happy, then our job as your designer is, for the most part, finished. We are now your drafter and will work to finish your plans so that they can be submitted for permit.

STEP 3: PERMITS

The permit process can be simple or lengthy. It usually depends on the city or county that has jurisdiction over your property. The scope of the project will also have an effect over what the permit process will require. Some departments require an extensive design review process, and some don't require design review at all. We will contact the appropriate agencies before we start the design process and let you know what I find out.

If you think we could assist you with an upcoming project we'd love to hear from you.
